Cynthia was widowed on February 4th, 2018, when she lost her husband of 29 years, Franz Mascarenhas, to a sudden heart attack. She met her husband in Bombay, India, fell in love, married and remained in love through the challenges and blessings of marriage. They successfully navigated the challenges of being newly weds and new immigrants to the USA.

Together they raised two beautiful daughters and raised them to be women who loved and feared the Lord.

Subsequently, she remarried a violent, narcissistic abuser and left him within 15 months with the firm conviction that nowhere in God’s design for marriage were the words “for battery and violence” or “until death (at your hands) does us part”. With her compelling need to truly understand what she had lived through, she set forth to educate herself on the nature of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and serial violent narcissistic abuse. Using her academic mind, compassionate heart, and understanding of what marriage is and isn’t, she continues to write on the subject on her FB page Triumphant ‘N Treasured. While she is not an expert on the subject, she is more than a survivor and shares her experiences.

Professionally, Cynthia is a Registered Nurse and Independent Legal Nurse Consultant. She also is a Master Certified Professional Life Coach with the International Coaching Federation. Her desire is to help widows and women who have survived trauma navigate the transitions in their life. She is the Founder/CEO of a non-profit organization, Triumphant ‘N Treasured, which aims to restore the community, dignity, and financial independence of widows both locally and globally.

Cynthia has used her problem solving skills and heart of service to bring attention to the mostly unknown and unseen challenges faced by widows around the world. Her desire is to see the church embrace a widow as a member of the body of Christ, and reach out to help widows in the community as representative of the ‘hands and feet of Jesus

Megan Kenney (née Mascarenhas)

Life Coach

Megan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and education from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and a Master’s degree in Musicology from Northwestern University. After graduate school, she spent a year in Vienna, Austria as a Fulbright grantee conducting graduate research and teaching English in two Austrian schools. Megan currently serves as the Director of Marketing and Communications for Triumphant ‘N Treasured (a non-profit organization), teaches children and adults private piano lessons, and coaches ice hockey.

After losing her dad in 2018, Megan’s heart has been to minister to widows and their families. She is a certified Ramsey Financial Master Coach and aims to help married couples plan and prepare their finances, equipping them to withstand the financial woes of widowhood.

In her spare time, Megan loves long walks with her husband and golden retriever, family road trips, hockey, reading, and coffee dates with friends.
